Missionary Services and Hymnals 1885-1910.

This series consists of nine copies of the missionary services and hymns manual. The first copy in the series was published by the Executive Committee of the Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society of the Maryland Synod in 1885, but it is uncertain if this was the first year of publication. The series is missing at least the seventh edition, and because earlier copies did not have any indications of what edition they were, it is not known what other editions might be missing. Because the series appears to be incomplete, it is not known when the General Literature Committee assumed responsibility for publishing the manual and when title and format changes occurred. Within the series there are copies for 1885, 1888, 1891, 1895, 1900, 1910. There are two copies for 1895, and three copies for 1910. It does not appear that a new edition was published each year. The 1895 copy is marked the fifth edition, the 1900 copy is marked the sixth edition, and the1910 copy is marked the eighth edition. The books are in excellent condition. Records are arranged chronologically.
